Teaching Portfolios
Here you can find my teaching portfolios, specifically the general structure I've usually had for the courses I teach and some materials that can be accessed.

In March 2023, I received a Teaching Excellence Awards from ITB (news). Despite this, I strive to continuously learn from experiences, either mine or others.

Relevant backgrounds I have:
-
My dissertation deals with ethical decision making, where I was exposed to a variety of theories and models in business ethics and in ethical decision making.
-
Years of working in managerial positions have provided me with practical insights into the complexity of ethical dilemmas and ethical decision making in organizations.
Business Ethics
Part of "Business Ethics, Law, and Sustainability" course in the MBA Program at the School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung
In this module, the general structure I've usually used is as follows: Capitalism and Business (the context that introduces ethical issues in business), Normative Ethics (basic theories in ethics), Descriptive Ethics (frameworks to understand factors affecting ethical decision making), and Ethical Problem Solving (discussion on a variety of ethical issues in business and how to solve them).
One relevant source of learning that I have always included in this course is a documentary called "The Corporation."
As part of understanding individual ethical decision making process, I usually ask students to do the following tests on Yourmorals.org: Moral Foundations (by Haidt and colleagues) and Values (by Schwartz and colleagues).
Intercultural Communication and Conflict Management
An elective course in the MBA Program & Undergraduate Program in Management at the School of Business and Management, Institut Teknologi Bandung
This course explores a variety of ways in which things are managed across cultures and conflicts arising a result of such diversity. As a course coordinator, I usually teach this course at least another colleague of mine. The general structure of my module is as follows: Culture and Identity (introduction of self and other), Cultural Differences (exploration of cultural dimensions across countries), Individual Differences (self-assessment of behavioral tendencies), Types of Conflict and Conflict Management (exploration of conflicts and how to manage them), Diversity in Teams and Organizations (types of diversity and ways to manage).

Basic materials that I usually use:
1. Reconceptualizing Cultural Identity and Its Role in Intercultural Business Communication (link)
Relevant Backgrounds I have:
-
I have had experiences as a young, pre-married, man participating in various summer or short-term programs that bring people from different countries in one place to work together.
-
Coming into the PhD program in 2011 at Rutgers University and during my earlier years there, I was working on papers related to cultural diversity in teams.
-
Since 2015, after my PhD, I have been tasked to deal with international partnerships, relations, or collaborations, exposing me to direct and indirect encounters with people from various countries.

The GECKO Project
The GECKO Project was an international collaborative project (involving universities in Europe and Southeast Asia) funded by the Erasmus+ Program by the European Union, focused on developing soft skills of engineering students using online deliveries. Project ran from 2017 to 2021, with online materials that can still be accessed by the general public (YouTube link).
